This week following the announcement of Labor’s new Ministry, we have congratulated each of the new Ministers that we’ll be engaging with in relation to Employment & Skills and highlighted key priority policy areas. Amid the worst labour and skill shortages in almost 50 years, of particular importance is skilled migration. We have had early engagement with Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs Andrew Giles, where we have indicated that it will be crucial to achieve reform that will ensure Australia’s skilled migration system meets the skill needs of Australian businesses and is fit-for-purpose for the long term.
