Meetings with Australian Trade and Assistant Trade Ministers
ACCI CEO, Andrew McKellar, and Director, Trade Policy and International Relations, Chris Barnes met with the Assistant Minister for Trade, Tim Ayres, on August 8. The Minister provided a debrief on his recent visits to Europe and the United States and the Government’s trade policy agenda, including the Indo Pacific Economic Framework. Andrew briefed the Minister on ACCI’s advocacy on behalf of Australian business in diversifying markets via new trade agreements and also ACCI’s international partnerships with ICC, BIAC and IOE. ACCI also met with the Shadow Minister for Trade and Tourism, Kevin Hogan, on August 15.

The Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon Don Farrell travelled to the United States last week for a visit to Los Angeles, Washington DC and New York to promote Australia as a tourism destination, to strengthen the Australia-US economic relationship, and to discuss opportunities and challenges for our economies and the Indo-Pacific region. The Minister will meet with ACCI on his return to provide a debrief.
