Tourism update | October 14, 2022

14 Oct 2022

This week we got a sneak peak of Tourism Australia’s upcoming new global campaign, Come and Say G’Day before the official launch next Wednesday, 19 October. With the latest international visitor survey results showing that the number of international visitors and related spend at 14 per cent and 22 per cent of pre-COVID levels respectively, the campaign could not have come at a better time. The campaign is an extension of Tourism Australia’s There’s Nothing Like Australia global brand platform and will feature a new Brand Ambassador, Ruby, a souvenir kangaroo brought to life with CGI animation. The Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon Don Farrell, unveiled Ruby to the world on a major digital billboard in Tokyo on Tuesday, kick-starting a world tour which will take Australia’s new Brand Ambassador onto billboards around the globe. Australian Chamber – Tourism has been advocating for a strong international marketing effort post-COVID so that Australia attracts much-needed international travellers in a highly competitive international market and we look forward to the launch next week.
