VET funding reached $10.6 billion in 2021
The National Centre for Vocational Education Research has this week released figures showing the National investment in VET reached $10.6 billion in 2021, see here. This is an increase of 67.6 per cent since 2017, a significant investment in the VET system, however student numbers as still not as high as 2012. We need consistent sustained funding across all levels of government to ensure the VET system is able to deliver the skills we need. We will pursue this with Minister O’Connor’s office as the negotiations for the National Skills Agreement continue ahead of the 2024 start date.
