University microcredentials pilot announced
This week the Federal Government announced that it has begun a $18.5 million university microcredential pilot program that was previously committed to by the previous government. The program is split into two rounds with the first round of $2 million to universities to apply to develop microcredentials in partnership with industry and round two of $16.5 million to universities to enable them to deliver 4,000 students through to 2026. The microcredential program is to be two-to-four units in length, something which ACCI has previously pointed out is too long in length. We are also engaging with the Minister’s office to allay this as well as seeking feedback on how the industry engagement will be linked.
