CACCI Conference 
ACCI Head of Trade and International Affairs Chris Barnes attended the 36th Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) in Melbourne welcoming CACCI’s incoming President Peter McMullin. 

Chris met with current CACCI President Samir Modi, CACCI incoming President Peter McMullin and former Australian Minister for Trade, and current Shadow Minister for Immigration, Dan Tehan. 

The conference proposed a new ‘Bretton Woods’ type agreement aiming to restore supply chain resilience, lift productivity, ease inflationary pressure, and restore global prosperity.    

 

Australia – India Trade Agreement 
Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) will enter into force on December 29, 2022. Last week, the Australian government confirmed that the Indian Government has completed all domestic requirements for the implementation of ECTA. 

This trade agreement will bring Australia and India’s economics closer together with Australian service sectors benefitting from full or partial access across of more than 85 Indian service sectors and subsectors.
