Working Holiday Makers Initiative
Potential working Holiday Makers are waiting offshore to come to Australia, some are waiting for their scheduled flights and others are delaying travel until airfare prices reduce. This is contributing the labour shortage being felt by tourism and hospitality businesses, many of which rely on working holiday makers.

To assist with the overall cost of coming to Australia, the Australian Government refunded visa fees for a period last year. Australia Chamber – Tourism is now working through members with a number of employers to refund working holiday maker visa fees for those arriving in Australia before April 30.

Further information on the initiative is available here. If you would like to distribute the link to your members who may be prepared to register to engage a working holiday maker visa holder and refund their fees, it is available here.
