Employer Guides to Changes to the Fair Work Act
ACCI is preparing practical guides to recent legislative changes which will be distributed throughout our network to assist members in advising employers, and as a product for member employers seeking up-to-date workplace relations information.

The guide to the non-bargaining changes made by the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022 will be issued shortly. This will be followed by a guide to the changes to the enterprise bargaining system.

Annual Wage Review 2022-23
ACCI is beginning to prepare its first submission in the Annual Wage Review 2022-23 by March 31.

In addition to outlining the economic challenges currently facing Australian businesses, which would only be exacerbated by the wrong approach to minimum wage increases in mid-2023, ACCI will seek to address the new statutory objects introduced by the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022.

Paid Parental Leave Amendment (Improvements for Families and Gender Equality) Bill 2022
ACCI is lodging a submission to the Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee inquiry into the Federal Government’s proposed changes to the paid parental leave scheme.

ACCI supports the changes proposed in the Bill on the basis that they will help boost women’s workforce participation, enhance flexibility in the paid parental leave scheme and improve gender equity outcomes.

Due to limited time over the new year period, ACCI will not have the opportunity to distribute a draft of the submission to members, so any views on the legislation should be provided as soon as possible to ACCI so that it can be taken into consideration.
