Digital Infrastructure and Space Technology 
The Digital Infrastructure & Space Tech: New Opportunities and Dispute Risks is a free event to be held on Tuesday, May 16 in the Clifford Chance office Sydney. 

This event is an initiative from ICC Australia Arbitration Committee that was launched in November 2022. 

ICC Australia member Clifford Chance counsel Julia Dreosti will be a panellist along with 7 Wentworth Selborne Chambers barrister Duncan Miller as the moderator. The panel discussion will focus on Australia’s digital infrastructure and space tech industry, and how to best resolve space disputes in Australia and APAC.

Philippines joins RCEP
Philippines is the latest country to ratify the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) which will enter into force on 2 June. 

RCEP is a regional free trade agreement that complements and builds upon Australia’s existing free trade agreements with 14 other Indo-Pacific countries including Australia, Brunei, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.  

Myanmar is the last country to ratify the RCEP Agreement.  

 

 

Australia – Vietnam celebrates 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relationship
Last week, Trade and Tourism Minister Don Farrell met with the Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment, His Excellency Nguyen Chi Dung, in Hanoi. 

Both parties discussed the intention to elevate the current bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership citing potential opportunities in investment.
