Education Services for Overseas Students (Quality and Integrity) Bill 2024

The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Amendment (Quality and Integrity) Bill 2024
introduces several changes intended to enhance transparency, improve conduct standards, and address
issues within the international education sector. While these objectives are commendable, the Australian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has identified several areas where these amendments could
inadvertently harm legitimate education providers and the broader sector. Damage to the international
education sector in this country will lead to job losses and economic disruption, not only for the sector
itself, but to businesses in many other sectors given the far-reaching spillovers of this important industry.
