Small Business Survey
The Small Business Committee met this week, and members received a briefing on the results of the Small Business Survey ahead of its public release on Sunday, 21 July. Members also received updates on recent changes relevant to small businesses and ACCI advocacy, including industrial relations and cyber security.
The next meeting of the Small Business Committee will be in Canberra on Tuesday, 5 November. Once confirmed, further details will be circulated.
ATO toolkit
The ATO’s 2024 Tax Time toolkit for small businesses is now available here.
The toolkit includes updated fact sheets on a range of expenses, including home-based businesses, motor vehicle travel, travel expenses, claiming tax deductions for digital product expenses, using business money and assets, and pausing or permanently closing a business.
The toolkit also includes links to helpful information, tools, calculators, learning resources and other support and services.
