Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade – International Students & Tourism
On Wednesday morning, John Hart, Ingrid Fraser and Natalie Heazlewood made an appearance before the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade inquiry into International Students & Tourism. The Committee members were focused on the international tourist experience, visa settings for students and tourists, housing affordability and work integrated learning for international students. A transcript of the appearance will be available on the Parliament House website in the coming week.
Meeting with Jobs and Skills Australia
On Monday, ACCI met one on one with Professor Peter Dawkins AO, the interim head of Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA). The meeting was an opportunity for ACCI to inform Peter of its vision for JSA and the ongoing role it see its undertaking in relation to workforce analysis and planning. We also raised our concerns in relation to the Jobs and Skill Councils and the need for there to be a formalised link between the two bodies.
