Meeting with the Secretary of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations
ACCI, along with Ai Group and the BCA, met with Natalie James, Secretary of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations on Wednesday to discuss the current review and consultation process underway in the vocational education and training (VET) and skills space within the department. The three peaks used it as an opportunity to reiterate the importance proper governance to calibrate the relationship between Jobs and Skills Australia and the Jobs and Skills Councils, particularly in light of the migration report released last week by Martin Parkinson, A Migration System for Australia’s Future. There will be ongoing meetings to discuss the various VET needs to ensure industry’s voice is being heard by the Secretary.
