ACCI, the ACTU & Ai Group jointly call for stronger apprenticeship/trainee settings 

This week ACCI, the ACTU and Ai Group wrote to the Minister for Skills and Training, Brendan O’Connor, requesting government action across four key areas including a 30 per cent wage subsidy for apprenticeships/traineeships without limitation of a priority list in their first year, and the creation of best-practice mentoring and support programs for apprentices and trainees. We also asked for the reinstatement of the $2500 payment to employers for completion, and payments of up to $5000 to assist apprentices and trainees to complete their training, untied to any list.
