Tourism update | November 18, 2022

This week the THRIVE 2030 Workforce and Skills Working Group met, with John Hart, Executive Chair – Australian Chamber Tourism representing members. The group progressed approaches to help Australia’s tourism industry build a highly skilled workforce. The Home Affairs Industry Portfolio Summit also took place this week, with updates on the broader migration reform priorities as well as delivery in the short term. While the numbers of offshore working holiday maker visa holders is still high at around 75,000, it is promising to see that the arrivals have increased to around 5,000 per week.
