Tourism update | October 21, 2022

This week ACCI – Tourism met with the office of the Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator Don Farrell, to discuss a range of priorities for the tourism sector. These included measures to address labour and skills shortages, encouraging working holiday maker visa holders currently offshore to make the trip to Australia, as well as the importance of the travel, tourism, hospitality, accommodation and events sector being an industry cluster in its own right. We also spoke about measures to improve passenger facilitation and in particular, the importance of getting our Tourist Refund Scheme right as an important component of the passenger journey experience. We look forward to continuing to work towards these goals with members in the lead up to the Roundtable with Senator Farrell next month.
