American Chamber of Commerce: 2022 A Space Odyssey
The American Chamber of Commerce- (better known as AmCham) have recently set up a branch office inside ACCI in Canberra with Sheryle Moon as the resident GM. AmCham is running their first event in Canberra on Tuesday July 19 and they are offering all ACCI members the option to attend at the AmCham Member pricing.
Last week two significant announcements spelt out the Federal Government’s commitment to establishing a viable Space Industry sector in Australia. First was the announcement of Australia’s first Satellite Manufacturing Hub for larger Earth Observation satellites up to 500 kg in weight to be established at the South Jerrabomberra Precinct in the Canberra locality through a $71 million investment and collaboration between Electro Optic Systems (EOS), Nova Systems, UTS Tech Lab, Gilmour Space, and the federal and NSW governments. Second, ANU was announced as a major partner in the iLAUNCH hub.
In 2021, AmCham partnered with KPMG to examine and produce “A Prosperous Future: Key Industries for Australia/ US Collaboration.” The document can be found on the AmCham website. The consultation highlighted six key industries including the Space Industry.
The event brings together 4 eminent speakers in the Space sector and by using the Code: ACCA_NONM to MEM, ACCI members will receive the discounted event pricing. The event is being held at the Commonwealth Club and is filling fast. Click here to REGISTER.
