Australian trade ministers abroad
Last week, the Assistant Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator Tim Ayres, was in Singapore for the sixth ministerial commission meeting of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Ministers issued a Joint Ministerial Statement following the meeting, which can be accessed here. The statement welcomes CPTPP’s entry into force for Malaysia, and provides an update on the UK’s accession request, expressing parties’ resolve that the UK meet the high standards required by the agreement.  

The Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator Don Farrell, is in Japan and Korea for bilateral meetings with counterparts and business leaders, discussing cooperation on economic security and Australia’s potential as a renewable energy exporter. ICC Australia congratulates new Vice-chair of BIAC’s SME and Entrepreneurship Committee
ICC Australia member Guy Primrose has been confirmed as Vice-Chair of Business at the OECD’s SME and Entrepreneurship Committee, in acknowledgement of his experience and expertise in the fields of global economic development and Small and Medium Enterprises.

Mr Primrose is the Chief Executive Officer and founding Director of Suasor Commercial Consultants.
