In conjunction with Business NSW, the Federal Budget Breakfast Briefing with the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, Treasurer was held on Tuesday 18th May at Doltone House Hyde Park, Sydney with over 400 business leaders.
Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said the budget, which included income tax cuts, incentives for business, & measures to encourage homeownership, was consistent with the principles outlined by Liberal Party founder Robert Menzies.
The Treasurer said he was proud of the government’s expenditure on the National Disability Insurance Scheme & the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, and that the record expenditure on aged care was “not just more money, it’s also serious reform”.
He also pointed out that Australia was just one of nine countries globally with a AAA credit rating from the three major ratings agencies.
During his briefing, the Treasurer provided an outline of the Government’s fiscal strategy to guide the economy out of its COVID-19 induced recession.
Following the Treasurer’s address he sat down to an in-depth Q&A with the Deputy President of the Chamber Nola Watson.
