ACCI reception with Rod Sims the Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)
The ACCC promotes competition and fair trade in markets to benefit consumers, businesses, and the community. It also regulates national infrastructure services. Its primary responsibility is to ensure that individuals and businesses comply with Australian competition, fair trading, and consumer protection laws – in particular the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.
At this event Rod provided an update on the current work and focus of the ACCC. Topics included:

-Australia’s consumer law framework and unfair trading practice prohibition
-Manufacturers disclosures on product life expectancy and warranties
-The establishment of the ACCC’s permanent Digital Platforms Branch
