The Morrison Government is reforming the Business Innovation & Investment Program to create more jobs, promote the growth of key sectors & support Australia’s economic bounce back from the pandemic.
Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services & Multicultural Affairs Alex Hawke MP said that the changes would improve the quality of investments & maximise the economic benefits for Australia.
“Over $15.9b has been invested into the economy since 2012 and the changes taking effect from 1 July will see this figure continue to increase,” he said.
“Australia is an attractive destination for investors & these changes will directly benefit emerging enterprises, the commercialisation of ideas, research & development,” he said.
The Minister gave an update on the plans around migration as Australia works towards economic recovery this included; adjustments or long-term structural changes, the review of skills lists & the extent to which they are meeting the needs of industries & businesses.
