Video Conference – The Indigenous Voice proposals update with Co-chairs of the Senior Advisory Group, Professor Dr Marcia Langton AO and Professor Tom Calma AO:
Business leaders had a chance to have their say on the creation of an Indigenous voice for the nation.
It’s all part of a Federal Government’s push announced by Minister for Indigenous Australians Ken Wyatt to develop in detail what an Indigenous Voice could look like & how it could work.
Co-chair of the senior advisory group for the Indigenous Voice co-design process, Professor Tom Calma said in recent Australian history, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices hadn’t always been heard when it came to the creation of laws & policies that impacted them directly.
“A voice to parliament & government is important, it provides a way for our representatives to give advice to government on things that matter to us and affect us,” he said.
The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a zoom session with Prof Dr Marcia Langton AO & Prof Tom Calma AO as they discussed the recently released Indigenous Voice proposals & how business can get involved and have their say.
You can view the proposals at https://voice.niaa.gov.au
We encourage all business leaders to review & contribute to this process.
