ACCI Video Conference with The Hon Michael Sukkar MP, Assistant Treasurer, Minister for Housing, Minister for Homelessness, Social and Community Housing

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a video conference with the Hon Michael Sukkar MP, Assistant Treasurer, Minister for Housing, Minister for Homelessness, Social and Community Housing, Federal Member for Deakin in Victoria.

At this video conference, Minister Sukkar provided ACCI members and guests an update on the Government’s ongoing strategies dealing with COVID19; the Government’s draft Bill to strengthen unfair contract term (UCT) protections for consumers and small businesses; draft legislation to implement the reforms to regulatory and tax arrangements for employee share schemes (ESS); the Government’s new patent box as a part of the 2021-22 Budget; measures to improve Australia’s insolvency framework for both small and large businesses; and other issues in his portfolios affecting Australian businesses.

Following his address, Minister Sukkar answered many questions from business leaders from across Australia in the Q&A session.
