Chris Barnes
Head of Business Development and International Affairs
Chris leads the business development and international affairs teams at ACCI.
As head of business development, Chris is responsible for the major revenue streams including membership, partnerships and sponsorships. He also manages the Certificate of Origin (COO) program.
He is also responsible for trade and international policy and managing relationships with key international partners including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Business at the OECD (BIAC) and the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI).
Chris is an experienced leader with considerable commercial, policy and representational skills gained in banking and diplomacy, both in Australia and internationally. Prior to joining ACCI, Chris was Australia’s first Consul-General in Indonesia’s second largest city and major commercial hub, Surabaya, with consular responsibility for East Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta.
