Geoff Gwilym is the Chief Executive Officer, Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC) and brings with him a long history and expertise in the automotive industry.
Geoff’s career in the automotive industry began as an apprentice Body Making Technician in the UK in 1976. Having completed his apprenticeship and spending time in the industry in the UK, including as a coachbuilder in the British Railways, Geoff moved to Australia in 1985.
Transitioning into a technical teaching role in vocational training institutes followed by leading vocational curriculum management roles, Geoff went on to work in industry associations and in the leading of two national industry standards bodies in Australia, Transport and Logistics and Automotive.
In 2014 Geoff became the CEO of the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce, an organisation with a $40 million turnover, 100 direct staff and 530 apprentices in its Group Apprenticeship Scheme.
Geoff has a passion and a deep focus on industry policy and in the setting of national training standards for automotive apprentices in Australia.
