Karyn Sobels

Karyn Sobels is an Independent Director and Board Chair with experience in senior executive corporate roles across a number of industry sectors including banking, retail and telecommunications, as well as currently owning small businesses in Australia and New Zealand. She has served on the ACCI board since 2019.

Past President of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karyn was a founding director of the Australian Business Growth Fund, a private equity venture between major banks and the Australian government to support and elevate successful Australian small businesses and help them to grow. She is also a director of Riskinfo, an information hub for the insurance sector.

Karyn is passionate about encouraging more women to participate in public and corporate life. As a mentor and an advocate for women, she is determined to see more women in leadership roles.

Karyn holds a BA degree, a Master of Commercial Law and is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia.
